Remember the Winter Warmth packs? Around a year ago I brought to your attention the plight of a number of families from Sunshine Beach State School who were in difficult circumstances. Most were single-parent households, some were fleeing domestic violence, one couple was raising their grandkids. And you responded…with wonderful Christian generosity! Through donations from our congregations, plus a donation from the Tewantin Lions, and an amazing gift from the Noosa Bridge Club, we raised thousands of dollars. I have kept in touch with the families’ needs via Tracy (Deputy Principal) and Lisa Klein, the Chaplain who joined the school late last year. We have now been able to provide the initial Winter Warmth packs, plus two rounds of toiletries packs, and book packs at the start of this year. We have also been able to help with excursions etc.

Our efforts have been greatly appreciated. As Tracy wrote to me: ‘please thank all of your church friends who help make a difference. I wish they could see the smiles, tears and appreciation that I see – that someone cares- people from the church. Thank you and the church for your on-going support of our families who most need it.’

I will soon be making another round of Winter Warmth packs from money already donated, but would love this ministry to continue beyond this year. If you would like to contribute, please mark your donation, “Winter Warmth” (envelope in offering, or online deposit to church account).

Thanks and blessings
