Jo Kadlecek-Gilbert will be stepping down from her ‘official’ role as coordinator of women in ministries as of 12th August, because of a new ministry opportunity she’s been offered (details to follow in due course!).
But Jo is not going anywhere any time soon! She’ll still be on the women in ministries team helping to plan another women’s breakfast for Sept., WoW in October, and will continue to help lead the Gospel Lunch Hour (in Luke) each Tuesday, noon-1 at Sunshine Beach hall (you’re invited any time!). She’ll also will continue to serve in music/worship as well as host a Connect group with her husband Chris.
We promise to give you more details when we can of the new role Jo will be taking. But until then, please know Jo is grateful for the privilege and joy of building friendships and community with our women around the Gospel of Jesus. She’ll appreciate your prayers for our women in ministries and continuing Kingdom work! And feel free to contact her with questions or if you’d like to help with upcoming events!
There will an opportunity down the track to thank and farewell Jo but let me say for now, how grateful I am to God for Jo’s partnership in the Gospel. She has inspired many women in their own ministry and creatively and passionately built up our ministry among women. She has taught the Bible with insight and clarity and been a good and encouraging colleague in the staff team.
We pray God’s richest blessing on her for this new venture and ask you to pray for the wardens and me as we continue to ask God’s guidance and wisdom for our staffing in 2019.
The Rev’d Mark Calder
