Our keynote speaker is Kanishka Raffel, the Dean (Senior Minister) of St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney.
Here is what Kanishka had to say about his upcoming visit:
Kanishka, with his 2 sisters, was raised Buddhist by his mother, a Sinhalese Buddhist of Sri Lankan origin. His father is of European origin but is a converted Buddhist. Kanishka obtained a law degree. Whilst at university he was introduced to Jesus Christ and subsequently became a Christian. A few years later, Kanishka decided to pursue full time ministry. After study at Moore Theological College, Sydney he was ordained in 1996. After a few years as an assistant minister at a church in the ACT he was appointed (1999) the head minister of a large church in Perth. In 2016 he was appointed Dean of the Sydney Cathedral.
Kanishka is an excellent presenter. He has set a title for his talk ‘From Buddha to Jesus – one man’s story’. Kanishka will focus his talk on John 10 and his own conversion and the impact on him and his immediate family.
This is an opportunity to hear first-hand of a significant conversion to Christianity.
