A Beautiful Location For Your Wedding…

St Andrews Church at Sunshine Beach is one of Queensland’s leading Christian wedding venues. The church itself is picturesque and traditional in style, surrounded by native australian flora and close in proximity to the popular honeymoon destinations of Noosa and the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The Wedding Package

In addition to the service itself, the wedding package includes the following:

Two altar flower arrangements (of the bride’s choice)
Altar candles
Pew bows
Kneeling cushions
Vases or urns
Church organist (if required)
Worry-free church set up – our wedding team volunteers take care of the set up of the church.

Other items to note:

The wedding church decorations can be themed in either white or ivory.
Extra flowers can be arranged at an additional cost.
There is a small reduction in price if you arrange your own musicians for the ceremony. A list of musicians is provided for your information at the bottom of this page.
Ring cushions are available upon request.
Iced water is served in the church courtyard after the ceremony.
Confetti is not permitted on the grounds of the church, however, a small amount of rose petals may be used outside the the church.

How To Arrange Your Wedding

To begin the process of arranging your wedding call the church office for advice on costs, procedures and to book a date for your wedding in the church diary.

Please call well in advance to ensure that your intended wedding date is available. A$200 deposit is required to confirm the booking.

Once the booking is secured we will send you a letter of confirmation and arrange a wedding interview with the Priest. In the case of couples who reside in locations other than the Sunshine Coast the interview can be conducted by phone or email.

Wedding Interviews take place on TUESDAY afternoon or evening.
Wedding Rehearsals take place on FRIDAY afternoon

Legal Requirements

You will supply your birth certificates and complete a ‘notice of intended marriage’ (more details about forms and legal requirements) no sooner than 6 months and no less than 31 days before the wedding.

Service For Marriage Booklet

You will also create a ‘service for marriage’ booklet which will be presented to your guests so they can follow the ceremony. At the wedding interview the Priest will show you some examples on which to base your booklet. The service is laid down in ‘A Prayer Book for Australia’, however, there are certain elements that can be chosen from.

The Wedding Rehearsal

A wedding rehearsal will be booked usually for the day before the wedding itself. Any special items which are needed for the service can be left overnight in the church.

On The Day

The preparations of the church for the wedding are performed by our volunteer wedding team. The team comes into the church to set up about one and a half hours before the service. The wedding service usually lasts between 35 to 40 minutes with around 1.5 hours being allocated in total for seating guests, the service and post ceremony photographs in the grounds of the church.
